Head of Audit – Northampton (Hybrid / Flexible)

Opportunity to lead and grow a key service line in a respected independent firm.

Due to a planned retirement, we are recruiting for a Head of Audit to take responsibility for the leadership and development of our Audit function.

This is a senior role within a well-established and highly regarded chartered accountancy firm that has supported owner-managed businesses, SMEs and not-for-profits across the region for over 30 years.

You will work closely with the Partners to:

• Lead, grow, and strengthen the Audit department
• Shape the strategic direction and future development
• Ensure high standards of delivery and regulatory compliance
• Mentor and support a developing team of qualified and trainee staff
• Contribute to firm-wide leadership and collaboration across departments

About you

• ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
• Already an RI, or looking to take that step in the near future
• Strong background in UK practice, ideally with leadership experience
• Commercially aware, quality-focused, and passionate about delivering value to clients
• Confident working with a diverse portfolio of clients up to £50m turnover
